The last lines of CMIII are describing Oort Cloud comets (not Caissa the featured) some few years hence inevitably. One counterpart (be it asteroid) once hit our dinosaur fellow craniates -- moreover chordates even vertebrates -- whose common ancestor transmits to the 10,000 surviving bird species today. The foregoing catastrophe benefiting, you always hear, the small mammals, a fortiori eventually the primates.
