Terrain Chess
By Ronald Drinning
Players setup chess pieces as in normal play.
A roll of 4 dice is made for each rank starting from a3-a6, then another roll of 4 dices for b3-b6, etc. If the number is odd a draught piece is placed in that square.
In play no piece can pass through the draught piece.
Only the pawn can move onto the draught piece,
and in the following turn, if player decides, the draught piece can be removed
from the chess board and play continues.
