Seirawan Chess

This page contains one or more presets for playing a game online with Game Courier, an online server for playing Chess variants by correspondence.

Seirawan Chess was invented by GM Yasser Seirawan and Bruce Harper in 2007. Starting with a regular chess game players add a Hawk (Knight+Bishop movement) and an Elephant (Knight+Rook Movement) to each of their armies as play progresses by placing them on any of their own first rank squares immediately upon vacating that square by the original piece that starts there.

Notation to place Hawk or Elephant: For Example, to move N-c3 and place a hawk where the Knight was, write: b1-c3; A-b1

A = white hawk; a = black hawk; M = white elephant; m = black elephant
