I am conducting a survey of 3d chess players and would appreciate your participation, you can take this short but important survey at http://www.3dchesstower.com/survey.html. If you wish to contact me I could be reached at: [email protected].
Do you play 3D chess? How would you like to join a club where you could meet, greet and compete with other play 3D chess players? I putting together an 3D chess club just for 3D chess player using a patented 3D chess set of my own design, which would be the exclusive property of the club. The only place one will be able to use it or see it will be at the club; or on my web site: www.3dchesstower.com. No computers! Tell me what you think. Visit my website: www.3dchesstower.com, and or email me: [email protected]. Your most critical opinion is appreciated.
I found your comments very, uh -- interesting and sobering, and yet in my heart I believe I have a great idea; unfortunately no funding. I wont say much more but only ask that you look at what I have invented and patented, your most critical opinion would be most appriciated. [email protected] email www.3dchesstower.com web site
TOWER SIEGE: 3D CHESS GAME
INTRODUCTION
The Tower Siege: 3D chess game is a variant of chess called 3D chess. 3D chess has existed sense the early seventeen hundreds. The Tower Siege: 3D chess game presupposes a conflict between two armed forces vying for control of a multi-level structure; a building or a castle. Although the Tower Siege: 3D chess game is a variant of chess it adheres mainly to the basic rules of chess.
THE SCENARIO
Terrorist have taken control of a downtown city office tower, they've taken hostages and have made demands. They threaten to destroy the tower, themselves and the innocent victims within if their demands are not met with promptly.
An elite team of anti-terrorist commandos have been alerted to the situation and are preparing to mobilize when they are informed that the terrorist have just shot down several air crafts, a News chopper, a tourist and police helicopter with shoulder mounted rockets. They threaten to destroy anyone or anything that approach too close to the building. Realizing they will not be able to insert onto or near the tower by helicopter the commandos’ leader decide to embark upon a dangerous and daring plan to execute a H.A.I. (High Altitude Insertion) onto the roof of the office tower.
After successfully and stealthily inserting themselves onto the roof of the office tower the commandos secure the top two floors of the tower, and then they quickly and quietly make their way, floor by floor, down through the tower. Securing any civilians they find.Midway through the tower the commandos encounter the terrorist.
A fierce gun battle ensues.
The terrorist leader and his team are captured, the weapon of mass destruction is secured, and the hostages are rescued.
SET UP
GAME PLAY
The set up and game play are based on the basic rules of 3D chess, which you can view at this link.

I live in Queens,NY and I patent a 3D chess set of my own design and I was thinking of starting a 3D chess club here in Queens; but I'm more of an inventor than a chess varient playing so I'm looking for some local talent to help me out, moreover, to evaluate my prototype to help inprove the design to - er, shake out the bugs... If you live in Queens, NY and you play 3D chess, then contact me at [email protected].
Hay cool. but it seems like a lot to ask of you. I should mention that I'm an inventor and not much of a 3D chess player. I invented the Tower for 3D chess players, now I want to get a few die hards together for play testing, to see if I could inprove on my design. can you get a small group together? let me know!
I very much aggree with what you posted. And for that same reason I created the BASIC RULES OF 3D CHESS. Follow the link to my web site, check it out, tell me what you think. ALL COMMENTS AND OPINIONS ARE WELCOME! http://www.3dchesstower.com.

Hutnik Forgive my intrusion - I do not understand this whole line of discussion. Chess is a game of either a win or lose, much like war; one side win, or one side losses. Though I have played chess (in the pass) and have drawn many games, I have always considered it a win or loss and the scoring comes down to material; right? p = 1, K = win, Q = 9 . . . and so on. If either side has no material then neither side gains a point, right? Please, again, forgive my intrusion; I just needed to get a better understand of what is being discussed and why. Ken.
There is a better way to play, explore and analyze a variety of chess variants: the tower 3d chess set, see my images: gallery
I invented 3D chess set, it was my hope that someday that live 3D chess playing will become popular. I would like your opinion on my design, which is a prototype of my patented design.
The set has eight levels, each levels revolves around the base, each level has eight platforms, the platform rotate at the end of each arm. each of the eight platforms accommodates a board 12 x 12 inches, and a set of chessmen with a King 2.5 inches in height. I created the set without rules, boards or pieces, it was design for the end user to play with there own pieces, own boards and own rules.
tell me what you think. Your opinion and the opinions of those at chess variants page are welcome.
Ken.

I would like to have my game evaluated, check it out and tell me what you think.
Mr. Webb;
Thank you for your swift, and candid response, it is much appreciated. I will try to address your evaluation of my variant.
A. “The opening scenario is unnecessary and inappropriate.†It wasn’t my intention to offend; I grew watching a lot of cop shows and movies like SWAT, my father is a veteran of past wars and a retired police detective team; I enjoyed watching the commando teams repelling down the sides of office buildings, storming and crashing through windows, to take out the bad guys! I have nothing but great respect and humility for the men and women who do the job.
“A force of commandos & terrorists would not bring their King into a battle, nor would the forces be identical.†Yes, this is a theme variant, besides a force of commandos & terrorist would have a King leading them anyway, moreover, chess is a game aren’t both side supposed to be even?
B. “The 3-D board has all the white squares above or below the other white squares in a vertical columnâ€
Yes, the idea was to stack the boards one above the other, like floors in a building.
C. “From your description . . . what is your intention?†All pieces moves as in standard chess, this includes the Queen, I gave the Queen this added power so as to threaten the King -- if the King is unprotected, but only on the same level.
My intention is to reduce the Kings mobility.
Checkmate:
The White Queen above and below prevents the King from escaping. The level with the red edges represents the Queens control. There is no Black Queen.
Thanks Mr. Webb, with each and every evaluation you give me more to think about and clarify my goals, over all; what do you think of the concept of the game? I tried to keep it simple and basic. . .
Yes, (LOL!!) losing the Queen would put one at a disadvantage, which makes Pawn promotion so vital. . .
Thank you for your insight Mr. Reinger; yes the piece, or player has the option of moving their piece either across the level or through the 3D environment. One move, one direction; if you so choose you can move your King from (1) d1 to d2 on one move and then move the King (1) d2 to (2) d3.
Sorry, (LOL) the checkmate was purposely obtuse: Q (4) d4 and Q (6) h4 restricts the Kings mobility, while P (8) c6 has
free reign to Pc8Q, then Q c5+.
With all do-respect, one should make do with what one has, I’ve see many variants adding, changing, and augmenting the environment to meet their own inadequacies; chess had two armies of equal strength and you won or lost by your merits – please, let’s leave it (chess) the way it was (is).
Hello all;
How would you like a device where you can analyze, create, explore, and play a variety of multilevel chess variants? I'm working on an invention of my own design, a 3D chess set where you do just that -- how? By simply adding and or removing the individuale levels of the device as you need them, moreover, you can add your own custom made boards and pieces.
Here is a picture of me with an earlier prototype model I built out of PVC pipes and parts, I painted it black, and have made changes to this design, and I hope to get pictures of the new design up loaded soon.
Email me or post your comments here, but please tell me what you think, your most critical opinion is appreciated
Thank you Mr. Smith for taking the time to respond to my post, and yes I think it’s very cool! and like I said to Ben Reiniger in an earlier post, I like to keep things basic and simple; thus my choice to use PVC's; but yes, constructing and perfecting the prototype was quite expensive and even though the project is constructed entirely of PVC pipes and parts it will still cost quite a bit. But on avarge and compated to prior art designs, still less.
I lined up a company call Flex PVC.com and was told that they can put together a kit (all parts and precut pipes and glue) for me for no less than $300. Not including shipping and handling). If I add my markup to cover overhead expense the entire kit mayvcost anywhere from $400 to $500 dollars.
What do you think, is this an acceptable price, will it sell, should I mark-it-down and take a lost?
Mr. Duke, Hello
With many variants requiring more than one player I for saw my device being very handy in that regards; players can analyze, explore and play a single shared board between them or play on multiple boards without having to constantly rise and move; risking upsetting the board.
