And it's done. To blacklist someone's comments, go to your Person Information page and click the "Edit Person" link. You will find a form field for a blacklist. Enter one name per line. Use whatever name the person posts under. For members, this is the PersonID, which you can find in the URL their name links to. For non-members, it is just the name or OpenID used to post.

When you log in, it loads the blacklist into your session. As long as you are logged in, it will not load or display comments from blacklisted authors in the main listing of all comments. If you go to a page or view a specific subject thread, comments from your blacklisted authors will still appear.

Here's another suggestion, related to the new comment filtering idea: perhaps registered users could set a default filter on the What's New items we want to see, according to various qualities (creation date, game features, authorship, etc.) so we could focus on the pages we find interesting.

If you want to customize the contents of the What's New page to your specific interests, you can use the form at the bottom of the What's New page.

Seems pretty difficult to submit new ideas to this website...you have to be a registered member to have the privilege of submitting new variants, piece articles etc. And as I'm not allowed to register (Johnny Luken, permanently rejects my temp password) that options off the table.

I have ideas for variants, and piece types but where do I send it? I tried the [email protected] to help me with my failed registration, but got no response. Does it even work? What happens if I submit content to this address? Does it show up? Do I get credit for it? All the new content is just from a select few of existing and longstanding members. 

What about everyone else?

I agree with Lu Ken.  I also have had the same problem, and I think it would be better if there were some way for any random guy to submit.  I also have the temporary password issue.  PLEASE TRY TO FIX THIS!!!!!!  Thanks.

Offline app? Well, downloading the file you want would be nice; perhaps if a index in SQL or XML or JSON or whatever is made then you can also query the database offline too.

I agree a random article would be nice, but I'm not sure exactly how to implement it, especially since our articles come in two flavors: hardcoded html and database entries.  And should it just be game articles?

One thing you could do for implementing random article is simply adding another parameter to mainquery.php, which if selected, causes it to select one of the items matching the query at random and redirecting to that one.

Ah yes, that was silly of me, all the articles should be indexed in the database in one table, and I'd only have to worry about the type after the random selection.  I'll probably be too busy to get around to it in the next couple of months, but perhaps I'll get something working.
