An alternative rule for stalemate is that the player simply misses their
turn. There is also the issue of what happens to a player's other pieces
when their King drops out. Obviously they cannot be moved by the defeated
(or stalemated if that takes them out of the game) player. I can see five
approaches.
1 These pieces are removed along with their King.
2 They cannot be captured and remain obstacles to remaining players'
pieces for the rest of the game.
3 They can be captured until the board is cleared of them.
4 They can be 'recruited' (i.e. change sides) to the army of a piece
(specifically a King, I recommend) moving next to them.
5 They can be captured or recruited.
