Not so much for the game itself, but for hte idea of using dice as pieces. It is a brilliant way of dealing with promotion in FIDE Chess and variants close to it - an extrapolation of the turning of Shogi pieces. Of course you would need large numbers of dice of two distinguishable designs, and games with extra types of piece (Camel, Marshal, Cardinal &c.) would need 8- or even 12-sided dice, but it is an interesting principle.
