Home page still needs edited to reflect this, though. Not sure how to do that.

I made an attempt. It is in the file index.html. Because Atomic Chess has the same start position as orthodox Chess, just displaying that position did not seem very helpful. So I tried to give the image some atomic flavor by illustrating what would disappear on a capture.

Somehow the image refuses to center, though.

Can I rather send you a screenshot of Lichess game moment with capture? Lichess permits its parts’ displaying even in commercial uses.

This is position from one of my 2298 games (not counting previous accounts with 4000+ played games). I think this image better covers the case of terminating player’s own pieces.

Other reason is that current image on the main page denoting Atomic Chess shows the move which ultimately leads to the lost game (via …Qf6 then 1. f3 Qd4 …# or 2. Kd1 Nd4 c3 Ne2 …#), which isn’t quite good.

The publication of your mnemonic SVGs will favour their diffusion; Well done they are very intuitive

I'm sorry, my English isn't the best either, but I think you mean that the said piece will favor their distribution.

I did not have such problem. Not even after refreshing the browser cache. But the Chu article does not use a ?nocache=true suffix on the betza script it loads. So ther might be some problem with the Cloudflare caching. I added that suffix now, and after refreshing the browser cache it still behaves normally for me.

A. M. DeWitt wrote on Wed, Nov 6, 2024 06:29 PM UTC in reply to H. G. Muller from 05:32 PM:

The lack of a ?nocache=true suffix must have been the problem. Thanks for checking though.

Apparently. Although I don't understand it. Because I did not have the problem either before adding the suffix or after, (refreshing the browser cache in both cases). So the version Cloudflare gave me in the first case must have been OK. But it gave you a faulty version, when you refreshed the browser cache. Can different versions of the same file be simultanously cached on different Cloudflare servers???

Fergus seems over worked and too busy.

I have been busy making music playlists and AI art. See

https://www.pinterest.com/fduniho/my-spotify-playlists/

I have suggested to him that he SELL this site or get new webmasters.

The site is not for sale, and work on the site is done by volunteers.

The site is too complicated and "busy busy" and IMO is old fashioned.

The site began in the 90s, and it has lots of old content. Some parts do get updated, but updating everything would be a lot of work. You're welcome to make specific suggestions or to volunteer to do some of the work you think needs to be done.

Also if anybody can or is able please delete the word "commercial" from my pages. ( found under my name Edwin J Wilhelm) We have switched to Non-Profit .

Done.

Also IMO the "Game Courier" should have its own domain separate.

It used to be on a separate subdomain, but using subdomains made navigation and site maintenance more complicated. Putting it on its own domain would introduce similar complications. It draws on site resources, and it also provides a diagram generator that can be used to show diagrams on other pages.
