Michael, it's in Ann Arbor/Detroit, Michigan. We just started a Yahoo mail list called SEMI Abstract Gamers. The SEMI is for South East Michigan, and we occasionally play games that aren't entirely abstract. But we prefer zero-sum deterministic strategy/tactics board games. I used to privately call us the Zillions group because we all have that program, but it didn't catch on since we never use Zillions in our monthly playtest get-togethers.
This is an excellent, highly original concept that provides for a myriad of possibilities. I also like the page layout and piece images... very good all around. I'd certainly like to watch a few games of this in action. Are there any example games that we could play through? Very well done!
My suggestion for limitations: piece can't cross lines (and when creating board, players also puts lines between squares) - it can make Xiang-qi-like game. For advantages: piece can't be leaped. By the way, i have question: does piece get leaping ability if it have 'must-leap'?
