Very nice!
nice pic, and nice set. i'd be interested in hearing exactly how the board was made.
The board was made by laying it out in Autocad, printing it out and spray-mounting the prints to heavy cardboard. A coat of acrylic spray was applied to protect the printing. The cells are 2' across the flats. Since my printer handles up to 11' x 17' paper, it was necessary to piece it together in five parts ( the seams are visible in the photo, but not so noticeable as to interfere with play). The benefit of this is the board is easily portable; the parts stack up and fit in a large envelope. The pieces are tournament-standard plastic chessmen ordered from Nf3.com (not sure if they're still in business). They had a good deal a few years back and I bought a few sets for about $7 US apiece. Thank you for your kind comments!
