In his book Morley lets the side corridors exist without the back corridors.  If we can use the side Morley corridors with the Gustavian corners, there becomes the conventional Capablanca 8x10. After much excitement for a year, there was disenchantment in 1947/48 about Morley's boards' intended improvement.  The question became, what good were they, the extra squares? Alexander Alekhine had died.  They turned their attention to the new championship:
