Hello Kevin! Is the a reason for using fast castle here? I mean both the new pieces can leap easily not being an impediment to using regular castle. Also there isn't a development on the same square problem like in waffle chess!

Hi Aurelian. Unfortunately I don't recall why I had fast castling; however, looking at the setup today, at least one of the new pieces might want to stay at home for a time at least, while the king fast castles around it. I think I may have also had a concern that in some cases an enemy bishop might hit a new piece if it developed too soon, maybe even pinning it diagonally in front of its K or Q.

I don't see much of a development issue for the pieces (in which way did you mean? the bishops and new pieces clashing, somehow, perhaps??) - not like in Waffle Chess, although there fast castling was one way to justifiably leave one of the knights at home, if a waffle was developed.

I meant that in waffle chess the preferred first move square for both knight and waffle was the same. Anyway. I get what you are saying!
