So this game is basically Janus Chess with the Knights and Archbishops swapped ... but the Archbishops are actually called Archbishop and not Janus (which I consider an improvement), and the King is to the right of the Queen as in Chess (which I also consider an improvement).
Is that right or are there any differences I missed?
I checked my Chess,_Large.zrf file, and while it had them at a1 and j1, at b1 and i1, and twice at g1 and d1, it didn't have them at c1 and h1. I like how the mid position on each flank lets the Archbishop cover most of the Pawns on its side while the neighboring Bishop covers the Pawn in front of it.
That's pretty what stone's chess is. I'm glad you think I improved some variants! You could also look at it like capablanca with two archbishops to defend all pawns.
I'm glad you like coverage!
The inventor of Janus Chess possibly wanted more than one difference in piece placement (and BN piece name, besides getting rid of the RN piece) for his CV's setup from that of the final version of Capablanca Chess, else he might have preferred to choose the setup of Stone's Chess, too.
Still, Janus Chess seems to be playable, despite the undefended pawns in that CV's setup, as extensive playtesting seems to have shown (some chess grandmasters have played it and Korchnoi even declared liking it, to let him be more creative than when playing chess, this CVP site's Janus rules page notes).
I don't doubt Stone's Chess would be a fully playable alternative setup.

In Janus Chess castling with the far Rook makes the King move 4 steps.
I did not realize that when I thought of Stone's chess. Assumed that Janus chess had castling that left the king in a similar position to normal chess. Thanks for pointing it out!
Could anyone tell me anything extra I need to do before this can be published/whats the normal timeline like? Thanks to everyone for your time.
This has been published. Although very similar to Janus, I consider it an improvement and sufficiently different to justify having its own page.
