HaChu has a hard time on this. I am now trying it through back-solving, but it doesn't really behave like it makes good use of what is left in the hash table from the previous position. Which it should if I untick the "full analysis PV".

Gwangsanghui(광상희). Members-Only A large, historical variant of Janggi, with two more generals that lead each flank and 6 more kinds of pieces.[All Comments] [Add Comment or Rating]

I think the given move of the Deva here is incorrect, though it could be the Maka Dai Dai Shogi page that's wrong.

Ultimajor. Ultima like game where each pieces are capable of checkmate with only their own King for support. (8x8, Cells: 64) [All Comments] [Add Comment or Rating]

Cavalry Chess. A once popular variant from the 1920's where every piece has additional jumping moves. (8x8, Cells: 64) [All Comments] [Add Comment or Rating]

The kings can jump in the diagram, which seems to be a bug.

HaruN Y wrote on Wed, Aug 7, 2024 10:55 PM UTC in reply to NeodymiumPhyte from 09:55 PM:

Kings can't jump in my Interactive Diagram.

What made you rember this variant?

You plan to make Cavalry Battalion?

@Bob Greenwade,

What program do you use to make those SVG graphics of yours?

Bob Greenwade wrote on Thu, Aug 8, 2024 02:43 PM UTC in reply to A. M. DeWitt from 12:30 AM:

I use Tinkercad for the basic generation, and Inkscape to make them site-compliant.

I can list off the specification numbers, if you need them.

(This reminds me: I still need to upload a small batch of new ones that I made just before my desktop 'puter went silent....)

The Forward FIDEs. A team for Chess with Different Armies where pieces can advancer easier than retreat.[All Comments] [Add Comment or Rating]

H. G. Muller wrote on Fri, Aug 9, 2024 09:51 AM UTC in reply to HaruN Y from Thu Aug 8 04:07 PM:

I don't see any justification for calling this army 'FIDEs'. It doesn't use any FIDE pieces (except of course for the obligatory King and Pawns); and that the pieces have moves limited do slides, Knight leaps or King steps is true for many other armies as well. You could consider 'Forward Fighters' if you want to keep the alliteration, but in fact the qualification 'forward' is also a bit dubious; the Nutty Knights are more 'forwards' than this army.

HaruN Y wrote on Fri, Aug 9, 2024 10:26 AM UTC in reply to H. G. Muller from 09:51 AM:

Done.

Fighters already exist.

Thanks. I was thinking about making some Chu Shogi SVGs.

I can list off the specification numbers, if you need them.

Shouldn't be too important unless you are using features that are known to be deprecated.

A. M. DeWitt wrote on Sat, Aug 10, 2024 03:14 AM UTC in reply to Daphne Snowmoon from Thu Aug 1 09:27 PM:

Such improvements aren't necessary now that it is published, unless another Editor decides to un-publish it (though we do try to avoid having to do that) or you feel that they need to be made.

Also, just so you know, you can put an Interactive Diagram directly into the page if you set the Format field at the top of the Edit this Page form to "HTML," but that does require you to keep the page in HTML in order to not lose the diagram to the text editors' formatting. Or if you don't feel like doing that, a link to a Comment with the appropriate diagram works too.

Indeed. Although it, along with Minor Trouble, & Vanisureum somehow weren't cool enough to won the contest they were submitted to.

Should I create an Interactive Diagram for the winner of that contest?
