8x8 Heart Chess
I designed 8x8 Heart chess following the form of the human heart. The chessboard is illustrated in the following diagram.
Like the usual 8x8 chess, two players oppose each other -- one with white pieces and the other with black pieces. The pieces Rook, Knight, Bishop, Queen, King stand on the respective extremities of the arteries A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H. For white R is on the cell a1, N is on b1, B on c1, Q on d1, K on e1, NB on f1, N on g1 and R on h1. On the opposite side, Black, R on a8, BN on b8, B on c8, Q on d8, K on e8, B on f8, N on g8 and R on h8. The moves of the pieces are as follows:
They simply move along their file, and when they reach the arteries, they have the flexibility of moving on any one of the arteries.
Let's say that the white pawn is on the file 'a' (that is, on a4). Then on the next move it can move to a5, a6, a7 and be promoted on a8, or when it is on a6 it can continue to c7 and be promoted on c8.
