Fianchetto Chess
A letter in the August 1999 issue of Chess Life (the journal of the United States Chess Federation), from Jack Middleman of Dayton, Ohio, USA, describes a variant of chess called Fianchetto Chess.Rules
The game is played as orthodox chess, but in the opening setup, the rooks have switched positions with the bishops. There is no castling.
