Fianchetto Chess

A letter in the August 1999 issue of Chess Life (the journal of the United States Chess Federation), from Jack Middleman of Dayton, Ohio, USA, describes a variant of chess called Fianchetto Chess.

Rules

The game is played as orthodox chess, but in the opening setup, the rooks have switched positions with the bishops. There is no castling.
