By Gerd P. Degens

Pattern chess - a game with a structured setup.

The pawn gets new moves, the other pieces move as in normal chess.

The game is played on a 8 x 8 board. The FIDE rules apply - with the following exceptions.

Setup

Rules

The promotion of the pawn takes place as usual; castling is omitted.

Except for the pawn, all other pieces move as usual.
