Enhanced Pawn Chess (EPC)

The game is played on the standard chess board. The pieces are the same as the standard chess pieces. The Fide rules apply with the following modifications.
The pawns are upgraded by giving them extended capturing possibilities.
The goal is to upgrade the dynamics of the standard chess game.
Rules
With the exception of the following rules, the rules of classical chess (Fide rules) apply.
- In advance: The move direction is always forward on the same line - backward moves on the same line are still impossible. On the first move, the pawn can still advance one or two squares.
- Pawns can capture pieces on adjacent side lines that the pawn can reach in one move.
- This means that the pawn can capture diagonally forwards, sideways and diagonally backwards.
Example:
- After the move, the pawn is on the square where the captured piece stood.
- Capturing 'en passant' is still possible.
- The promotion of the pawn to a queen, rook, bishop or knight on reaching the opponent's baseline remains unchanged.
