A Royal and His Pet

While I was trying to fix 16Chess, I made this variant. This was originally a Knightmate vs. FIDE Chess variation but after some thinking and then changes, this is the result.

Setup

Pieces

Pawn Moves like in Chess. Moves 1 Square Forward(or 2 Squares on its first turn) and Captures 1 Square Diagonally Forward. En Passant is still possible.
Tower Moves like a Wazir (1 Square Orthogonally) or a Dabbabah (2 Squares Orthogonally)
Guard Moves like a Ferz (1 Square Diagonally) or an Alfil (2 Squares Diagonally).
Knight Moves like in Chess. A (1,2) Leaper.
Man A Non-Royal King
Cannon Moves like in Xiangqi. Moves like a Rook but must jump over a Piece to Capture
Archer Moves like a Bishop but must just over a Piece to Capture. Also known as Vao
King Moves like in Chess. Moves 1 Square in Every Direction
Rex A Royal Knight

Rules

1. As Stated Above, Double Move and En Passant is still allowed.

2. Checkmate the King and/or the Rex to win.

3. The Pawn must promote into any non royals in the last rank

4. Baring the King and Rex wins the game

The rest are the same as in Chess

Notes

I don't know if castling should added or not but if it does, The King and Rex may only castle with their Towers and the squares in b2/i2/b9/i9 may be leaped over.

Also I thought of a Crazy Variant where Tower and Guard, Knight and Man, and Cannon and Archer may promote into their compound pieces, I dunno how that changes the game though since I've never playtested that variant

Also for Notation:

Pawn - P

Guard - G

Tower - T

Archer - A

Cannon - C

Man - M

Knight - N

King - K

Rex - R
