Crossroads

The game requires a 9 x 9 board.
Using the pieces on the base lines as a starting point, new pieces are formed at the crossing points of the diagonals.
The crossing of the diagonals of queen and knight leads to the amazon, that of king and bishop to the dragon horse, bishop and rook to the queen and so on. Details later.
Setup
Pieces
Standard pieces with standard move options - and a few more pieces. Details in the rule section.
Rules
Except for the following changes, the Fide rules apply.
There is no capturing en passant, castling and promotion of pawns takes place.
Bare king loses. Stalemate is a win.

The pieces move as in standard chess. The game also includes the pieces: Amazon, Dragon Horse, Dragon King and Chancellor.
Ranks 1 and 9
There is no morphing on ranks 1 and 9.
Rank 2 and 8
On ranks 2 and 8 there are only pawns or pieces are morphed into pawns to enable pawn promotion.
Ranks 3 to 7
New pieces are formed from the diagonals resulting from the pieces on the base line. New functions result from the basic pieces at the crossing points.

The amazon's movement option is a hybrid piece of queen and knight.
The dragon horse's movement option is a hybrid piece of bishop and wazir.
The dragon king's movement option is a hybrid piece of rook and ferz.
The duke can move to an adjoining field.
