Crossfire

A game on a 9 x 9 board, a modified setup, different pawn moves (darts) and double darts as crossfire.

The FIDE rules apply - with the following exceptions.

Setup

Rules

Except for the following changes, the Fide rules apply.

Castling and pawn (dart) promotion takes place.

Dart

The dart either moves one square diagonally forward without capturing, or one or two squares forward on which the opponent's pieces can be captured. The dart cannot jump over pieces.

The move diagram looks like this:

Double dart (crossfire)

The double dart moves like a dart, but tilted by 90 degrees and moves either to the left or to the right. The double dart cannot jump over pieces.

King

The king can generally move to an adjoining square.

Castling: This is a move of the king and either bishop of the same colour along the player’s first rank, counting as a single move of the king and executed as follows: the king is transferred from its original square three squares towards the bishop on its original square, then that bishop is transferred to the square just next to the king.
