Equalized Shatranj
Suddenly created idea similar but different to Makrochess. This game is the result of equalizing the power of weaker pieces by increasing their number.
Setup
White has Pawns on 3rd rank, Black has on 6th. All other pieces are on 1-2 ranks for White, 7-8 for Black: Dabbabas on C & F files, Ferzes on D & E files and 2 / 7 ranks, Wazirs on D and Kings on E files on 1 / 8 ranks, and Alfils on A, B, G & H files.
Pieces
All pieces are basic leapers, the weakest ones can ignore anything on their path:
- Alfil leaps exactly 2 diagonally: it covers just 1/8 of squares, but 8 reach them all;
- Dabbaba leaps exactly 2 directly: it covers just 1/4 of squares, but 4 cover them all;
- Ferz steps 1 diagonally: it covers 1/2 (one color) of squares, but 2 control them all;
- Wazir steps 1 directly and already has access to all squares;
- Pawn steps 1 directly forward passively or 1 diagonally forward to take, can promote;
- King steps 1 directly or diagonally and can reach every square if it's safe.
Rules
- Your aim is to checkmate or stalemate the opposite King.
The player with lone (bare) King loses, so taking all the opposite pieces except for King is also winning. - Pawns promote on the last rank to any captured piece of owner (if there's none, it can check the King, but cannot move and promote).
- 25 moves without capture or Pawns' move, threefold repetition of position are draw.
