This is another attempt by Parton to change the rules of chess to make an interesting variant, with just one king to mate. Another interesting change Parton made was his 'Parton's Game' which strengthens the King's side of the board and allows the rooks to be developed faster. In both variants, Parton is addressing what he perceives as undesirable qualities in the King's position.
