Barion. A variant of the chess variant Bario.
By M Winther.
Notes
Barion is inspired by Bario, which was invented by Panos Louridas, who is also a problem composer. The variant is described in German chess magazine Rochade 3/1998 ('Eine Skala der Intelligenz'). According to Chess Variant pages the name is derived from a Greek word which means 'difficult' or 'heavy' because the intention of the author was to create a quite difficult game. My game Barion is close to the original rules of Bario. It can be regarded as a variant of Bario. Hence the similarity of names.
