What other human cultural activity was invented in the Dark Ages and destined to stay the same? Actually PastChess64 was invented in the 1480s, late mediaeval. But is it stuck there? Proponents think as though PastChess64 and the Internet are perfect fit, or even that the former was invented alongside the latter 15 or 20 years ago. What's the truth? Namely, when they started Mad Queen/&Bishop, neither William Shakespeare nor Elizabeth I were yet born. Isaac Newton was born 150 years afterwards. How archaic can you get? 525 years is a chunk of human history, but it's not deep time, geological, biological, astronomical, measured in tens of millions. The railroad dealie above came over 300 years after the first O.T.B. OrthoChess64 in Italy. In 1480-1500 there were no Protestants yet only Catholics. The Earth was flat to many or most Europeans still. Anyone would expect but that PastChess (our alternate name with full respect for its antiquity) should have been overtaken by now in so fluid a medium (many rules-sets).
