Yes, there is something wrong with the problem diagram. I don't have a copy of the original problem as published, but it seems that the white pawn on g4 should actually be a white knight. Then the solution as given is correct (assuming this is indeed the mistake, there are also some variations not given in the solution, namely: 1...c1Q/R 2.Qd1#; 1...g5 2.Sd8#; and 1...h5 2.Sg5#).
