OK, so a leap arrow on the first jump, and then dots on any others. Right?

Correct.

I never found a way to satisfactorily express locust captures in a static move diagram. Even in an actual position set up for the purpose there are in general destinations that are without any side effect, as well as destinations where the locust victim disappears. It does not seem possible to associate destinations with the corresponding victim graphically (even if this would be unambiguous, which for the Chu Lion it in general is not). This is why the ID produces move diagrams that are themselves interactive, and only show destinations reachable through locust capture when you provide a victim by hovering.

Perhaps you could use different symbols for destinations beyond the black victim, and explain in the text that moves to those squares would make the black piece disappear.
