I'm taking a break from inventing Chess variants to work on some other things and myself. I'm currently finishing up my Chu Shogi Applet with Assorted Tsumeshogis by adding in the remaining workable tsumeshogis from H. G. Muller's MSM Errata (only one left is D63). It's kind of a prelude to a stand-alone program I plan on making that allows you to play Chu Shogi (based on historical rules of course).
I'll still be around from time to time, mostly to review submissions.
Why have three cats instead of sticking with the original material?
Nothing on my end. Just says that it could not be found.
Someone might have downloaded it.
here is a one week link : http://biscandine.fr/echange/f.php?h=39JMHvYp&d=1
Send an email if you need more information because it's not yet mature enough to be shared more widely
Here's also a set of 100 px icons that could be used as the basis for an interactive diagram set. It can, of course, be improved.
Thanks. I was thinking about making some Chu Shogi SVGs.
Anything that I can add, that can't already be done by combining what I have?
rules not listed here (from Looney Labs webpage https://www.looneylabs.com/sites/default/files/literature/MartianChess_Rules5.pdf):
"If you have no Queens, you can create one by moving a Drone into a Pawn’s space (or vice versa) and merging them. Similarly, if you have no Drones, you can make one by merging two of your Pawns. (The pieces being merged should be removed from the board immediately and swapped for a piece of the combined size.)"
It seems both the pieces you are combining must be on your own board region.
"Your opponent may not 'reject' your move; if a player moves a piece across the canal, the other can’t move it back to the same square it was in."
"During the final stages of the game, the action slows down and may become stagnated. If any player feels the game has reached a state of deadlock, during their turn they may “call the clock.” From that point on, if seven moves go by in which neither player captures a piece, the game ends and the final score is computed. If someone makes a capture, the counter is reset."
"If the final score is tied, and one Zone is empty, the player who ended the game is the winner. But if the game ends in a deadlock with a tie, the result is simply a tie. Play again!"
Isn't the second one Rule Zero?

Today is elephant day.
Where's the Modern Elephant page?
Moved the Interactive Diagram for a toned down version of Meticulous Mashers here because my Interactive Diagram was affecting the Interactive Diagram on the main page.

Well, I did use your pieces for a Western set for the Chu Shogi Applet (via fen2.php) using single icons, so if I decide to include pictogram SVGs, I think I'm covered there.
Actually, I think it may be best if I do use your SVGs for a Chu set, if that's okay with you.
I'm sorry, but I cannot get these links to work at all.
I have decided to make my email address public, so you can send the files via an email to me.

I can't think of a circumstance where that would not be okay.
Thanks.
All that would be left to do is figure out how to change the color of the SVGs. but I can always use tools in the code to do that.

If nothing else, you could just use the "Fill" function in Inkscape.
And as I said before, if something seems lacking just let me know.
There hasn't been a new featured variant in a bit and it's worrying me a little.
Don’t worry. Everybody is fine.
CwDA is a large notion enough to hang out for two months.
your example is quite blurry, please show it as image
Is it possible to program games on unusually shaped boards if these can be translated into square ones, and movements can be coded with alternating through morph, so technically it’s a square variant with different visual representation? The best examples are Pentagonal Chess, Rocket Chess, Stair Chess, many Koval’s variants and more.
Noöne has made one.
It wasn't really established as a piece with much history back in the Piececlopedia's heyday, and of the occasional additions made since it's apparently been less of a priority. If noöne gets to it by the time I've got round to doing Panda (slip‐rook) and Stag (4,2, a.k.a. lancer/charolais) pages, it'll be next on my list, but that may be a little while
I imagine so; Haru and H.G. have both done a handful of examples. Of course some are easier than others (some of David Cannon's designs might be…tricky)

A sample would be interesting to see. Maybe we could even include a Jocly graphics directory.
