Sosarian Chess
This page contains one or more presets for playing a game online with Game Courier, an online server for playing Chess variants by correspondence.
This game is an augmented version of Capablanca's Chess on a 12x8 board. It uses all the pieces of Capablanca's Chess, plus two extra pawns, and two Lions (the piece invented by Ralph Betza which he called the Half-Duck.) The Lions move a single space diagonally, or leap exactly 2 or 3 spaces horizontally or vertically, optionally leaping over other pieces.
